CampanologistsThe ringing of church bells is a long-standing tradition and practised in many churches across the country. The members of Beeston Tower are part of the Southwell Diocesan Guild of Church Bell Ringers. The aims of the Guild are to be of service to the Church in the Diocese of Southwell by:

Beeston has ten bells, ranging in weight from 4 cwt to 17 cwt. The Beeston band practice on a Wednesday evening from 7.30 to 9.00 p.m. and ring for 30 minutes before morning and evening services on Sunday (9.30 to 10.00 a.m. and 6.00 to 6.30 p.m.)

We also ring for weddings at the church and to mark other major occasions in the life of individuals, the church and the nation. As part of the Southwell Guild we participate in joint events with other local ringers and organise to ring in other towers.

We are always pleased to receive visitors, whether they are experienced ringers, or newcomers interested in watching what we do or in considering learning themselves.

Further information on ringing at Beeston can be obtained from Bridget Eickhoff, the Tower Captain, or email

Additional general information on bell ringing can be found at www.southwelldg.org.uk (Southwell Diocesan Guild) or (The Central Council of Church Bell Ringers)
